The battle to preserve 5% VAT on fruits, vegetables, and berries

Prominent Latvian agricultural non-governmental organizations united in their efforts to safeguard the 5% VAT rate for the country's quintessential fruits, vegetables, and berries. This initiative emerged in the wake of potential tax rate increases, leading to a vigorous campaign of public communication and advocacy. The communication aimed to clarify the adverse effects that a VAT increase would have on Latvian fruit and vegetable producers, traders, and the wider community.

Efforts included communication on social media, publicity, advertising support, and communication with decision-makers, maintaining relevance in the media and political agendas for more than three months.
